Deus Ex Remastered has been officially announced
Among the announcements made early this morning on PlayStation State of Play for September was this rather interesting one: a remaster of Ion Storm's legendary Deus Ex.
Deus Ex Remastered is being developed by Aspyr, known for its remasters of Tomb Raider, Legacy of Cain: Soul Reaver, but also for the turbulent remaster of Knights of the Old Republic that has been stuck in development hell.
According to the game's Steam page, the Remastered version will introduce new character models, dynamic lighting, water physics, particle effects, and other graphics quality upgrades, along with QoL additions such as autosaves and faster loading times. The same page informs us that the game is expected to be released on February 5, 2026. The best thing we see there, of course, is the recommended specs for Remastered, which appear to require an i7 processor and an NVIDIA RTX 2080 / Radeon RX 6750 graphics card. A strange requirement for a 25-year-old game, but what can you do?
Some soul in some gaming universe once said, "I never asked for this," and the quality of Aspyr's work on the remasters it has released does not inspire much confidence, to be honest. But time will tell. In the end, if the final product proves to be lacking, there are always the HD mods for the original Deus Ex...
