In a not-so-unexpected development, Microsoft and Halo Studios have announced the upcoming release of a remake of the original Halo: Combat Evolved, which will be called Halo: Campaign Evolved.
The new version of the game has been redesigned using Unreal Engine 5 and promises improved controls, online co-op modes (with crossplay capability with Xbox and PS5 – where it will appear for the first time), as well as three new missions, accompanied by new enemies and vehicles. It goes without saying that the visual upgrade will be significantly enhanced, with support for resolutions up to 4K.
Halo: Campaign Evolved will be released sometime in 2026.
