Assassin's Creed Shadows delayed

The recent cancellation of the game's presentation at the Tokyo Game Show was ultimately for good reason. As announced by Ubisoft and Ubisoft Quebec, the developer of the title, Assassin's Creed Shadows will not be released on November 15, 2024, as originally announced, but a few months later. Specifically, on February 14, 2025.

According to various estimates, the reason for the delay, beyond the usual "it needs more development time to be perfected" reasons, is the disappointing (in sales) performance of Star Wars Outlaws, which suggests that Ubisoft would in no way risk a second "failure" in the same year.

This assessment is reinforced by the fact that the game will be released day one on Steam (it's been many years since this has happened and will happen from now on in all future releases of the company), and there are also changes in the commercial model followed. On the one hand, with all existing pre-orders being refunded, and on the other hand, with the removal of the, for years, well-known Season Pass. Instead, everyone who pre-purchases the game in the future, will receive the first expansion for free.

Let's see where this all ends up.
