Fans are using https://topazlabs.com/ai-gigapixel/">a $100 piece of software called A.I. Gigapixel to improve the resolution of Final Fantasy VII’s backdrops. The program works through a process of deep learning. Developers feed the system an extremely high resolution of an image and a low-resolution version of the same picture. The A.I. Gigapixel team then programs its neural network to attempt to make adjustments to the image.

This process starts out random at first. But the machine knows that it wants to get a final image that looks more like the high-resolution original. So each time it runs its process it tries to build on what has worked before while throwing out what didn’t.

Γενικά οι game engines είναι μέσο που χρησιμοποιείται ολοένα και περισσότερο σε πολλούς τομείς, είτε στην ευρύτερη ψυχαγωγία είτε σε "ανέλπιστους" τομείς όπως οι ανθρωπιστικές επιστήμες. Μέχρι και το θέμα για αρχαιολογικό διδακτορικό που επεξεργάζομαι θα περιλαμβάνει ένα μέρος που ενδεχομένως και να απαιτηθεί να εφαρμοστεί σε Unity ή Unreal.

Εδώ κι ένα χρόνο περίπου κυκλοφορεί το Wireframe Magazine από το Rasberry Pi Foundation. Το περιοδικό έχει θεματολογία γύρω από τα games και το game development. Έχει διάφορες ενότητες για Design, Narrative και programming όπως και συνεντεύξεις από δημιουργούς.

Όλα τα τεύχη διατίθεται (και) δωρεάν για όποιον θέλει να χαζέψει.
