Είδα πριν 2 εβδομάδες το Gladiator II. Ρε συ Ridley τι έπαθες; Σίγουρα την σκηνοθέτησες εσύ; Μήπως έβαλες κανέναν νιούφι κι απλά κότσαρες το όνομα σου για να μαζέψεις κόσμο στα σινεμά;

Spoiler: Spoiler για την ταινία για όποιον θελήσει να την δει....

Ξεκινάει η ταινία και μας παρουσιάζει μια αρμάδα από πλοία που πάνε στη Νουμίδια για να την κατακτήσουν για χάρη της Ρώμαϊκής Αυτοκρατορίας. Εκεί ο πρωταγωνιστής μας προσπαθεί να υπερασπιστεί τη πόλη αλλά αποτυγχάνει και μαζί με την πόλη χάνει και την γυναίκα του που την σκοτώνουν οι Ρωμαίοι. Αυτόν τον πιάνουν και τον πηγαίνουν για μονομάχο κι αυτός ορκίζεται να σκοτώσει τον στρατηγό που εξαιτίας του έχασε την γυναίκα του. Ποιό είνια το πρόβλημα μου; Βασικά δεν μας κάνει ποτέ established τον ήρωα ότι είναι ηγέτης και φοβερός μαχητής κι ότι τον ακολουθούν οι άλλοι όπως γινόταν στο πρώτο. Μετά μας δείχνει κάτι μάχες στο Κολοσσαίο με κάτι μεταλλαγμένους πίθηκους, με ρινόκερο και λευκούς καρχαρίες (γιατί όχι). Κι όταν του δίνεται η δυνατότητα να σκοτώσει τον στρατηγό που ήταν υπεύθυνος για το θάνατο της γυναίκας του δεν το κάνει γιατί δεν ήθελε; τον συμπάθησε; επειδή είναι καλός; Δεν μας δίνεται μια ικανοποιητική δικαιολογία. Και για να μην μιλλήσω ότι στη σύγκλητο μπαίνει ένας μαύρος ΤΗΝ ΕΠΟΧΗ ΤΗΣ ΡΩΜΑΪΚΗΣ ΑΥΤΟΚΡΑΤΟΡΙΑΣ. Εκτός κι αν ιστορικά είχε γίνει και στέκει. Αφήστε που στο τέλος περνούσαν με άλογα ανάμεσα από τους Ρωμαίους στρατιώτες κι ούτε ένας δεν τους έκανε σουβλάκι με το δόρυ. Ο άλλος μπήκε στη σκηνή του εκατόνταρχου σπρώχνωντας τον στρατιώτη και τον άφησαν.

3 ώρες ταινία και πάλι πράγματα δεν έγιναν established κι όλα φαίνονταν βιαστικά. Κι η πρώτη ταινία είναι μια ταινία δράσης με Χολιγουτιανιό περιτύλιγμα αλλά δεν ήταν αυτό το χάλι. Αυτά που έκανε τα έκανε σωστά.

Tα σιτζιάι ζώα ήταν επιεικώς για τον πέο, αυτές οι εικόνες θα μείνουν για πάντα χαραγμένες στη μνήμη. Εφέ που θα ζήλευαν και τα βοριοβιετναμέζικα μπλοκμπάστερ.
