Το πρώτο Pillars κυκλοφόρησε Μάρτη του 2015 και μέχρι τον Οκτώβρη του ιδίου έτους (7+ μήνες μετά, δηλαδή) είχε πουλήσει 500k αντίτυπα και λίγο παραπάνω. Μετά άρχισε να βγαίνει σε προσφορές, bundles και διάφορα πακέτα, και έφτασε αργά ή γρήγορα στο εκατομμύριο.

Εν προκειμένω μιλάμε για πωλήσεις 2 εκατομμυρίων από τα τέλη Οκτώβρη μέχρι τις 31 Δεκεμβρίου 2019 (αυτήν την περίοδο μελετάει η παραπάνω συνεδρίαση), οι οποίες πωλήσεις μάλιστα έγιναν ως επί το πλείστον full-price, μιας και δεν υπολογίζονται οι συνδρομητές του Pass.

Και που να βγει και στο Steam αργότερα στο έτος.

Ανέλπιστη επιτυχία, όπως προείπα.

Got it. And then just -- just a kind of higher level question. I think Outer Worlds was on Microsoft Xbox game pass. Do you think that helped or hurt the success of that franchise?

It's hard to say. I think what we've said all along is that, generally speaking, we want to be where the consumer is. Generally speaking, we think subscription offerings to the extent they exist, are probably better suited to catalog, but we're willing to take experimental chances when it makes sense for a particular title and when the deal underlying that option also makes sense for us. And we're pleased that we have a great partnership with Microsoft, and we're mostly pleased that the title is such a big hit, it's sold in more than 2 million units and it's won 75 game awards. So it's early days for all of these platforms. It's obviously early days for many technologies, including streaming technology. Our goal is to be where the consumer is. We're ecumenical and we're open minded.

Εκτός κι αν με το "units" που λένε, αναφέρονται μόνο στις retail κόπιες - και όντως δεν έχουν πέσει ιδιαίτερα από την αρχική τιμή από όσο θυμάμαι - οπότε ok.

Είσαι σίγουρος; Δεν είδα το trailer ακόμα, αλλά στο announcement άλλα λέει, ότι απλά θα έχουμε special reduced price, και μάλιστα δεκαρικάκι, δηλαδή φαντάσου πόσο θέλουν για full price, για πέντε-έξι εφέ παραπάνω. Εγώ τουλάχιστον δεν έχω σκοπό να τα σκάσω.

We were able to update to 4K, 60FPS graphics, enhance volumetric lighting, improve particle systems, and enhance the environments with increased asset density.

We also raised the bar in several additional ways: we made the combat and companion AIs smarter, improved the open-world sensation through better depth of field and by reworking existing vistas, updated varying weather conditions, and we reworked character models and animations. Don’t worry, we didn’t dare touch the core of what made The Outer Worlds great. There’s no point in reinventing the wheel, but fresh tires are always a plus.

both DLCs do not extend the main story line. They exist on the side, offering a fresh narrative arc to enjoy if and when you feel like it once you’ve reached the appropriate level. Oh, and we increased the level cap to 99, to give players even more ways to build their character from the seven branches of the skill tree.
