Το Gibbous: A Cthulhu Adventure was a very pleasant surprise for the adventure genre, when it appeared two years ago in the well-known digital stores. Although no longer common in the genre, the game ended up being a notable commercial success, allowing the Transylvania-based development team Stuck In Attic to move on to their next project.
Their new game called Near Mage seems like an ambitious project. It's a narrative-heavy adventure that will feature several RPG elements, where the heroine of the adventure is an apprentice at a Transylvanian magic school. An important part of the game's gameplay will be the ability to create spells, with which we will be able to solve the game's puzzles in many different ways.
The development of Near Mage still has a long way to go, and the company plans to launch a Kickstarter campaign soon, as it did (successfully as it turned out) with Gibbous.
