Microsoft just announced the Xbox Backward Compatibility program for PC, bringing original Xbox games—which had never been ported and were therefore “locked” to Microsoft’s console—to computers for the first time. In fact, these games won’t be simple re-releases but will also feature various enhancements such as higher resolutions, anisotropic filtering, and achievements. This Microsoft initiative is launching with four games, but the catalog is expected to expand significantly in the near future.
