The most important announcements from The Game Awards 2025

DIVINITY: Following the sweeping success of Baldur's Gate 3, Larian returns to the fantasy world we know and love, announcing its new title simply called Divinity. No release date has been announced yet, but we know that the Belgian team is committed to its development, so we will have more news soon.

GANG OF DRAGON: It is well known that the mastermind behind the Yakuza (Like A Dragon) series left Ryu Ga Gotoku years ago, having founded a new company called Nagoshi Studio. His first title is now a reality and (naturally) follows in the footsteps of the games created by Toshihiro Nagushi himself. Gang of Dragon "smells" like Yakuza from miles away, and we look forward to seeing what the genius creator has in store for us. Logically, sometime in 2027.

EXODUS: Archetype Entertainment's Exodus is another highly anticipated action/RPG with strong Mass Effect vibes, developed by former developers of the "good" Bioware. The new trailer gives us a taste of what to expect (with a little bit of Matthew McConnaughey, who will play a key role in the story), while the release window is early 2027.

PHANTOM BLADE ZERO: The onslaught of Chinese games continues, with Phantom Blade Zero being yet another highly interesting and promising action game. Until recently, we had no concrete information regarding the release date, but that changed yesterday, as the game is now expected to be released on September 9, 2026. Undoubtedly, Chinese games will continue to occupy us for a long time to come...

Of course, the event also featured other interesting announcements, such as the release date for Capcom's quirky Pragmata, material from CI Games' Lords of the Fallen 2, as well as Frictional Studios' new work, Ontos, the spiritual successor to SOMA. The only thing that is certain is that 2026 will keep us busy with many interesting titles, while 2027 has already started to "tick" with important titles. Have a great gaming year!
